Justin and Melissa

We had a great day on Saturday. Justin and Melissa are a cute couple, you can see their love when ever they are together, it shows in their eyes. It was a hot day, in the church, and at the park, but the wedding party was fun. We took photos at Blanchette, then we went down to Main Street in St. Charles. The reception was at the St. Charles Convention Center.

Hey everybody.

Here is the collage for Jason and Angie. It was kind of a rainy day so we took some of our photos at the studio, then we were of to Quail Ridge. The ground had dried and it was a wonderful setting for a ceremony.

Amy ans I have been really busy at the studio lately. Our new order program is working and we are working on figuring it out.

Bob Schneider at VooDoo

We had a great time at the Bob Schneider concert.

He plays a great mix of music, from rock to rap to reggae to punk. This is the third or fourth time I've been to a Bob show.

Who was there with us? Tom and Debbie N. Steve Jackson (tell Denise thanks for picking up the kids) veteran concert goer, and my sweet bride Amy, and her little sis Retta.

Voodoo is a great concert spot! Sound was good smoke wasn't bad. It was much improved Blueberry Hill.

His website is www.bobschneidermusic.org

Meghan & Kirk's Wedding Album

I finally got their album done. I've had four wedding in the last two weekends. ahhh. I love doing weddings, but it takes a bit of time to design them. All the albums that I design are unique, so it takes more time to create them. Here is the album. It is located on their collage page. http://www.afterfourphoto.com/meghan_&_kirkland.htm

Happy Memorial Day

I hope that everyone is having a great weekend. The Brinkley Family is having a busy weekend. I (Brian) had two weddings, KL had a sleepover at Megan's for her B-day, Blake spent the night at a friends and Amy was busy catching up on the work that she missed from having a great visit with her mom in Scott City. We (all of us) had a nice visit with the Jackson's (see Audrey's image above) and then I had a photo session at the Hawkins. A lot of family was over for Tony's graduation party and Peggy figured that it would be an ideal time for a family picture.

It was rainy, but after a short wait, the rain abated. We got some great images.

House Painting

We've been pretty busy as a family the last few weeks. We've been painting the house. I was a union painter for many years, so it is not really a big deal. I borrowed a paint truck from by brother Dan, ( His company along with my brother Steve, is Brinkley Painting.) and started spraying last Saturday evening. It seemed to take longer than I remembered, but maybe it was because Amy and KL don't tape off windows quite as fast at a painter would. Anyway we got it done spraying about 9:00PM. I had to have Aim get a light just to make sure I did't miss any spots at the last part of the house. (It was getting dark, ok not getting, but was dark.)

Sunday I trimmed out the windows in a darker color. (It was white, now a dark brown) The siding went from a blue to a kakhi kind of color. Amy and KL painted the front porch rails and pickets. One with a roller and the other with a brush. They were both covered by the end of the day, but so were the rails.
We are putting in a brick patio behind our deck, so Blake had the fun task of carring bricks. I keep telling him it builds character, so should have alot by now!

I still have to paint the facia boards, but maybey this next week I can do that.

My nephew Jared has helped me on some of the painting as well. His company is Brinkley Elite Painting. (brothers Jeff and Don are also owners)

I've been trying to get it done, but when I had time it decided to rain for a week, then I'd get busy. Aw, life.

Birthday Wishes

Today I am a man, well a 35 year old man anyway. It was a nice day. We ate at Ryan's for breakfast. Then for dinner we went to Alfredo Grill, in St. Charles. I got a new Ipod and the Simpsons 8th season on DVD. This was just what I needed. My old Ipod just died, so the new one was really needed. The new one is a video Ipod. I didn't think that I'd like that part of it but..... IT IS COOL!

The day spent with my wife and kids and mother was nice. It makes you appreciate life and what you have. I hope everyone has a good day, and a great mothers day.

Canvas Prints Coming Soon!

I'm getting ready to put an order in for some new canvas prints. These are gallery wrapped, meaning that the image is wrapped around the sides of the prints. They are really neat looking, and they save you $$ in the framing department.

Here is a blurb from my canvas printer:

Your portrait (image) will be printed on museum-quality canvas and hand stretched onto a custom-built, 1.5” thick wooden frame. The image will be gallery-wrapped, continuing around the sides of the frame for a beautiful print, ready to hang on your wall. No additional custom framing is needed.

Your print is made with the highest quality, archival inks that will never fade or discolor. Each
print is sprayed with a UV coating for added protection and a gloss-type finish.

In addition to our standard sizes, we can produce any size you desire. Please ask us about
custom sizes and shapes, whether it be a square or rectangle shape. Our canvas prints are
perfect for filling any large wall space in your home.

We should be getting our sample prints back in a copuple of weeks. I'll let you know when they get in.

Gulbarga Medical College

Monday I shot some images for a class reunion. This is a school in India, and one of it's alumni is high up in the government of India. Here is a picture of him and I. Dr. Rajashekara Reddy is his name. He is the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

The doctors and their families that I met were very nice. I got my first and second interduction into Indian cuisine. It is very tastey, but a bit on the hot side. I can't wait to try it again.

Quail Ridge and Confirmation

What a weekend! We were busy from Friday to Sunday night. Friday night, Amy and I did a trivia night for the library district. With us were the lovely couples Debbie and Tom, Steve and Denise, and Nick and June. We did OK, not wonderful, but the food was good and the company outstanding.

Then Saturday, Blake had confirmation at the Cathedral Basilica on Lindell. I also had a wedding at Quail Ridge for Jacob and Laura. So, I took some shots of Blake, saw him get confirmed by the Archbishop, then bolted out the door for the park.

Sunday night we went to the Music Man at St. Dominic H.S. It was a great production. The costuming was beyond compare, but it was hot in there. St. Dom is having a capital campaign for a new performing arts center, hopefully they will get one.

Corrie and Jason's Wedding

The Orf-Intelkofer wedding was a great time on a rainy day. The wedding was at St. Patrick Church in Wentzville. We took Corrie and Jason's pictures at the church, then we headed across the street to our studio. I kept thinking that a lot of the wedding party looked familiar, and it turned out that I had taken their photo out at the family barn. It was a nice day.

Election Results

Thanks to everyone who voted for me. I really appreciate it. It just goes to show that a lot of signs don't vote. My opponent had a lot of signs, I had about 8. Some of these dissappeared. The final count was 205 to 191. The sad part of this story is that we had 11% turn out to vote. Thanks to you 11% no matter how you voted.

Kristen & Rosario's Wedding

Saturday March 10, 2007 I had the pleasure of photographing their wedding. It was at ICD in O'Fallon. Here is their collage print from it.

They are a great couple, with a large loving group of family and friends.

Their album is now (3/20/07) online.

Here is the direct link to the page.

Weekend of 11,000 exposures

What a weekend. St. Louis Diving Club sponsored the AAU Qualifer dive meet at the Rec-Plex. I did not realize how many images that my camera is capable of. A lot of the time I could get 6 to 10 images of each diver, each dive. It adds up quick. I think the total number of images is right about 11,000. It took forever to download from my camera and then another eon to get them all on the website.
Kari Leigh dove at this meet, she did OK, but didn't qualify for nationals, so we might have another meet coming up.
What I found really interesting was that the crowd was really family orientated. All the athletes were friends and really cheered for each other. It was kind of a nice change of pace in sports for us.

Cute Twins

This is the wall portrait that Grandma just ordered. What do you think? Mom was concerned when they came to get their portaits taken... Did we get any images? 217 or so later she had a hard time sorting them down.

Blake being Cool

Here is a shot of Blakester last night at the Rec Plex. He'll be in high school next year. Hard to believe. He swims three days a week for the Sharks.

What a face.

Wow. Look at the intensity of this look. Kathy and Steve have a gorgeous little girl. I'm working on their order right now, but I had to post this.
Also a note: Dive meet at the Rec-Plex this weekend. After Four Photographics will be there to record the marvelous dives.

WMS Cinderella Production

Wow. There is a lot of talent at Wentzville Middle School. Recently they put on the musical version of Cinderella. The whole cast and production was done really well. The sets were good, and I took lots of photos. Just look on our home page for link to all of them. Blake did a great job as the herald, of course I might be a little biased.

Aldermanic Race

Notice to the world, I Brian Brinkley am running for Alderman of Wentzville, Ward 1. Please vote for me if you live in the Ward 1. If you know someone in ward 1 have them vote. In the past the total percent of votes was as low as 12 percent of the total available votes. So whoever you vote for just vote.

The Nursing Baby shot

Wow! You have to check out this image. We just took this yesterday. The mother was nursing her baby and the connection is unbelievable. The love that is in this image is palpable. What do you think? This was a fun session, the couple, baby, and grandma was all in the session. They liked a shadowy look so I played a lot with light and dark in this shoot. (not in this image though) The dad said "That image looks like it came out of a magazine." I agree.

Match Game

Does anybody else watch Match Game on GSN? We watch it pretty much every night. It is so much fun to hear answers from 1975. Who is your favorite panelist?

Snow, snow, snow

We just had 5 inches of snow on Saturday night. It was a perfect time to sit in the hot tub and enjoy the wintery weather. Peaceful and snowy, it was great. That is the perfect time to enjoy the snow, when you are up to your neck in hot water. Kari Leigh spent the night at a friend's house, and we (Amy and I) worked Blake pretty hard, so the three of us enjoyed the tub.

Here is a new birth announcement that we just created. What do you think?

New Year new blog

I have finally started my blog. I've been wanting to write one for a while. It seems a nice way to get thoughts down, and share pictures, and communicate to the world. My plan was to start this on the first of January, but we've been really busy. My father passed away January 4th. Here is his obit. He died from pancreatic cancer. We found out shortly after Thanksgiving. A mass of 10 cm was found in his abdomen. He stayed in the hospital till right before Christmas, then waas sent home. At that time his mass had grown to 15cm. He had tried two treatments of chemo, but to no effect.

Pancreatic cancer is bad news. If it is discover it it usually too late. Average life span after diagnosis is 3 months.

The beauty of cancer is that you get to say goodbye. I miss my father very much, but at least we (all of my family) got to say goodbye.
